WOO HOO the little kiwi "GINGERNUT" has done it, Jarno is now
AUST & NZ CH Rivertsone Autumn Gold
He left here after being shown in the rain/hail/snow/wind, but it didn't take long to thraw out in Brisbane staying with Marilynn and Rob Morphet, I don't think they will ever forget the antics of the BIG CLOWN named Jarno.
Half way to his title Jarno boarded a flight to Adelaide to the Waldwiese team and a whole new group of friends to charm. It didn't take long and Jarno was back at Riverstone trying to work out who Ava and Luka were as they were only three months old when he left and quite a bit smaller.
A HUGE thank you to Marilynn and Rob, and the Waldwiese team of Lois and Claire, and Kevin who stayed with Jarno in Adelaide.
October 2010 - Jarno Gains his Australian Title
May 2009 - Southern Golden Retriever Club - Best Dog
RESERVE BEST IN SHOW
I could not pass up putting such a lovely preamble provided before the full critique of all the 1st and 2nd place winners in each of the classes (full critique and photos can be view at www.sgrc.org.nz )
Reserve Best in Show and Best of Opposite Sex was number 31, Ch. Riverstone Autumn Gold, breeder/owner B. Kramer. This mature, medium colored dog is of correct type and has a very good head, well balanced angulation front and rear, strong level backline, good length of upper arm, very good body proportions. He is an excellent moving dog, looking athletic and balanced when going around the ring, showing a proper stable topline with head carried just forward of the body and tail out behind. He makes a very pretty picture going around the ring and was a pleasure to go over standing.
Critique: "A well balanced medium colored dog with a very pretty head and true Golden expression, good forechest and balanced front and rear angulation with nice layback of shoulder and good return of upper arm. Good bone without being coarse. Compact dog with good length of ribcage and short loin. Strong, stable topline both standing and moving. Nice, athletic and effortless movement that was very pleasing to watch going around the ring. Best Dog. Reserve Best in Show."
November 2008 - Canterbury Kennel Association Shows
I'm so proud that Jarno now has his Champion title. He went out there on a rather hot windy Canterbury morning with his handler Phillip and just showed everyone how stunning he could be. Just to make sure we didn't miss him taking Best Dog on the Friday, he then went out and did it again on Saturday!! (all listed on our news page)
October 2008 - Southern Golden Retriever Club - Open Dog
Critique: "This dog is of a different style and probably still has some more maturing to do, but he gave the impression of being a true workmanlike Golden. A moderate dog, the colour of a gold sovereign, he moved around the ring with great ease and reminded me very much of a dog Mrs Sawtell (Yeo) put up BIS in Australia about 30 years ago."
Jarno is my loveable "Ginger-nut" and is full of the joys of life.
